Overview & Reviews
More power is in store from a new 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine. On the outside, Toyota has added a redesigned front grille and bumper, new headlights and taillights and a bolder rear bumper. A new appearance package (only available on the SE Coupe) includes alloy center caps for the wheels, a three-spoke perforated leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, black trim and Black Pearl emblems. Rounding out the changes are standard daytime running lights, optional seat heaters (coupes only) and a trunk-opener function for the keyless remote.
- Roomy cabin, convertible version, reliable Camry genes, delectable V6.

Love this Ride - 2002 Toyota Camry Solara
By Badjura - November 14 - 10:00 amAll the reliability of the Camry, all the looks of a sports coupe, and all the luxury of a Lexus. It gets great gas mileage and the 2.4L engine has enough get up and go to satisfy. Big enough back seat to accomodate two adults in comfort and has a large trunk. You will not be disppointed if you choose to buy this car.

Worth the wait!! - 2002 Toyota Camry Solara
By Mrs. G. - July 31 - 10:00 amUnfortunately it took appprox. 7 weeks to receive my vehicle, when the vehicle arrived, and we looked it over, it was very much worth the wait! Interior: one would think Lexus, Elegant... Exterior: very sleek design... An eye catcher. Dealership very professional, when the vehicle came in, closing of the deal took only minutes, with the promise of being pampered for a lifetime.

Average Car - 2002 Toyota Camry Solara
By SCR - July 31 - 10:00 amAfter owning Hondas for many years, I decided to switch to Toyota because I liked the look of my Solara. Theres plenty of room. Its smooth riding and handling. It has a luxurious look for the price. Its just not a fine tuned car. It doesnt have the precision of my Hondas. Its an excellent car for someone who wants a vehicle that you put the key in, put gas in it and go. Dont expect to get much more out of it. I compare it to a big econobox that you really cant get much more out of the engine or transmission. Nonetheless, everyone who gets into my car seems to love it. I wish I shared their enthusiasm since Im the one who drives it everyday.

Great ride. - 2002 Toyota Camry Solara
By EDK - June 1 - 2:00 amI seriously love the thing. I owned a 1988 Cadillac Sedan deVille before this one, and the Solara feels much nicer than the Caddy. The acceleration is OK (for a 4-banger) and has been praised by a Trans-Am owner as "having balls" (again, for a 4-banger). Mileage is great, ride is as smooth as the old Caddy, and the stock audio system isnt too bad. Its a royal pain in the butt to change the rear speakers, however. The vehicle itself is quite sexy. Very reliable as well. Ive recommended it to many people already :)

Smoooooth Solara - 2002 Toyota Camry Solara
By Chop100 - May 13 - 10:00 amI traded-in a 2000 Volvo S70 for the Solara. The Solara wasnt on my radar screen but the salesman suggested I try it and I was impressed from the get-go. It doesnt take corners like a sports car, but the overall performance with the new 157 hp 4 cyl is surprisingly good.

Still in love since 2002 - 2002 Toyota Camry Solara
By Kris Peterson Bogacz - April 28 - 9:56 pmI bought this car new and have not had one mechanical problem (except the radio antenna replacement at 100,000 miles) thus far. The car still drives like a new Lexus, such a smooth ride at so many miles. Luxury and comfort--- Im keeping this car as long as it allows me. No problems with convertible top to date. Had to replacement rear seat cupholder one time. Very flimsy.

Easy Decision - 2002 Toyota Camry Solara
By KZ - March 31 - 10:00 amAfter attending the 2002 Auto Show here in town and seeing the Sebring and Solara convertibles on the same floor, I realized there was not comparison. For the same money, the Solara ragtop was the only choice. The Sebring seemed "flimsy" by comparison. This is indeed a rare car. When I tell my friends what I bought half of them have no idea what Im talking about.
